Every kit born in the forest knows the stories. Of the legendary clan that once ruled the mountains. Of the blessings they received straight from the forests and cliffs and rivers themselves. A time when every cat had their clanmates and the stars at their back and they roamed their territory without fear.
That time has long since passed. Fear and uncertainty now looms over the cats of the mountains like a dark cloud. A new power has laid claim to the territories: vicious giants from deep within the mountains. Seasons upon seasons, they’ve reigned with iron claws, demanding offerings to stave off their unyielding wrath. Cats have been left with two choices: leave their homes or bow to the Giants’ will. Until now.
Three cats have emerged from the mountains, different than they had been when they entered. They carried with them a story too remarkable for many to believe. That they had been called there by the Ghost of the Mountain to a pool filled with the sound of a thousand whispers, all telling them one thing: The Clans must return to defeat the Giants.
Each gifted nine lives, these three cats: Pinestar, Cliffstar and Rapidstar have returned to fulfill their mission. That is where you come in. Cats have begun to gather behind their new leaders. Newly formed and fragile, the three clans are still finding their footing, while trying to remain secret enough as to not alert the tyrannical Silent Giants. Will you join the fight, rebuild the legendary clans and reclaim your home? |

Little is known about the phantom creature that roams the mountainside. Always appearing with a striking white coat, the Ghost takes many forms as it slinks through the forest. A bit of a trickster, a Ghost sighting is often believed to be an omen of bad luck. Until recently...
No one knows why the three cats were led to the Whispering Pool that fateful night, or why the Ghost, white fur glowing in the moonlight, was waiting for them. Legend has it the white spirit granted the three cats nine lives, accompanied with a task: to unite the forest as three Clans and vanquish the Oak Giants and their hold on the mountain. |

Hidden in the mountains lies the Whispering Pool. Suspended above the earth in a mossy stone basin, here is where the the three chosen leaders were led to meet with the Ghost and receive their nine lives. No cat knows exactly what they heard that night, but legend has it, one can hear the whispers of the souls of the past while sitting at the edge of the pool.

Though long abandoned, the clearing that houses the army of dead monsters still holds the eerie stench of Twolegs and is avoided by most creatures. This makes it the perfect place for the Clans to meet in secret. Each full moon, the young clans gather among the rusted, metal creatures to share news and plan their next moves.

Secluded in the dense pine forests, most of these cats have always been content keeping to themselves. It's extremely rare for forest to offer aide to the other cats, and even rarer for them to ask for help themselves. However, they're not adverse to taking what they need, when they need it. They're naturally fierce and stealthy, relying on their ability to blend easily into the thick growth.
Kittypets and other cats wandering in from the Twolegplace are common under the trees, though the fierce locals make no allowances for their inexperience and are quick to attack any cat who gets in their way. Forming the forest clan has been the most difficult, with both leader and potential clanmates unwilling to work together. Even those cats who have agreed to join under Pinestar's rule have yet to swear allegiance many still go off on their own, with little regard for the needs of their clanmates. |
As water flows where the river takes them, so do the cats who live along it's banks. River cats are known for being flexible and adaptive. Due to the nature of the river and the high chance of floods, cats usually don't get attached to one place, instead moving from place to place fairly frequently.
While friendlier than those who live in the forest, river cats can be cold and distrustful, most keeping to themselves or to a small collection of friends and family. They consider themselves the most skilled of all the cats, navigating the waters with ease and without fear. They value beauty and intelligence above all things, often striving for self improvement throughout the course of their lives. |
Life in the mountains is tough and the cats who live there are no different. Relying on each other for survival, most mountain cats live in tightly knit colonies. As they grow older, cats usually remain with their colony until they find a mate, at which time, they may either split off and form their own colony or choose to stick around.
Each colony has very loose territories, though it varies from group to group how strictly they enforce those borders. While not all cats are happy about the forming of the new clans, the mountain cats have definitely embraced the change more than the other territories. After all, they're stronger together. |
